Esaco was originally established as a joint venture between a local and a Japanese partner (Matsushita Company) that was specialized in electronic products. Esaco owned National Thu Duc which ran a television assembled line.

Esaco was re-established and re-named to ‘Esaco Ltd.’, the corner stone of ESACO Group today. The original business scope at this point was commerce and industrial distribution (including industrial products’ distribution, and related services in electric and automating field).

Esaco Ltd. has been exporting agricultural product (Dragon fruit) to European market and upholding the business until today.

Esaco Ltd., as the mother company, engaged in manufacturing and trading chemical product extracting from Apatite ore, namely “Yellow Phosphorus”.

Esaco Ltd. also started investing in energy development division, mainly hydropower plants. The first project has been operating since this year.

ESACO Group was formed during the period.

ESACO Group started dealing with property development, focused on luxury, full – serviced hotel and resort sector. The Group has collaborated with number of local partners to finance and construct hotels and resorts at various tourism hubs in Vietnam. Those projects once finished will be managed by international reputable hotel companies such as Accor group and Hyatt International.

2009

This was a busy year for ESACO Group with various projects falls under water treatment and water distribution management division. Besides acting as the investor of those aforementioned projects within Vietnam, The Group also collaborated with Tapproge GmbH (German company) carrying out a capital investment in a breakthrough, Eco – friendly water treatment technology, called "Terrawater".

At the same time, Smit Esaco Marine Services Co., Ltd (SEM) is the product of the joint venture between ESACO Group, partners and Smit International – the global leading marine services provider. SEM will provide terminal and towage services within Vietnam territory.
